The most wonderful time of the year is approaching, and we’re thrilled to invite you to our annual Wassailfest at the CAN DO Community Park, located at the corner of Broad and Laurel.

What’s Wassailfest All About?
Wassailfest is a fun holiday tradition that brings the community together. “Wassailing” is an ancient English tradition during Christmas time that involves walking from house to house to sing carols and drink toasts to “good health,” as the word “wassail” is derived from.
During this annual celebration, attendees can purchase a $10 collectible mug (and a “shop small” tote bag) to enjoy free tastings of unique drinks from local businesses along Broad Street. The evening's festivities also include the lighting of Downtown Hazleton’s 22-foot Christmas tree at 5 PM in CAN DO Community Park, followed by a night of holiday activities.
How to Join the Fun
- Pre-Purchase Your Mug (now until December 5th): As quantities may be limited, please pre-purchase your mug online or on the day of the event at CAN DO Community Park for free drinks from participating businesses. Invite family and friends but remember that each person needs their own mug!
- Pick Up Your Mug + Plan Your Route: Collect your commemorative mug and “shop small” tote bag on the event day at CAN DO Community Park and use the provided program to map out your stops at local businesses celebrating the Wassail tradition.
- Celebrate + Share the Fun: Enjoy the festive atmosphere at each venue, savor your drinks, toast with friends, and capture moments using the hashtag #HazletonWassailfest2024!
Online ordering for tonight’s Wassailfest event has closed but you can still purchase your mug in person from 4:30 – 7:00pm at CAN DO Community Park!

Event Description
Santa will be at the Hazleton Library Area Public Library on December 11th from 5 to 7 pm to spread some holiday cheer. Kids of all ages, along with their parents and caregivers, will have the opportunity to meet Santa one-on-one for pictures, play festive games, and complete a fun craft. Registration is required and begins on December 2nd. To sign up, please call the Youth Services Department at (570)454-2961.

All women throughout Greater Hazleton are invited to attend our Annual Women's Holiday Social! Winners from the Annual Decorating Contest will be announced and all participants will be recognized! Ladies will enjoy a delicious array of hors d'oeuvres by Four Blooms restaurant, along with a cash bar including fun holiday drink specials! Attendees will judge the decorating contest contestants and one business will win the "Peoples Choice Award"! Entertainment provided by ALV Karaoke and DJ Services!
